Hatlehol church is situated on a rocky site near Ålesund in mid Norway. The church design works with multiple aspects to create an appropriate frame for the religious event. The whole church complex is reflecting the journey from the everyday life which is gradually through differences in scale, levels, light, and atmosphere meeting the holy dimension of the end point, the church room.
