4. term, Architecture, Master (Master Programme)
This project deals with the design of a pediatric health clinic in East Africa. The project is focuses on sustainability, adaption, healing and integration in the context. Here, materials, operation and construction together with indoor climate and curative means through architecture are integrated in the concept of the building. The result is a pediatric health clinic, which integrates high-tech solutions with resources and materials from the local community. This is done over different stages of construction in which the clinic responsibility extends from a smaller clinic to a larger and permanent health clinic. The clinic is designed to use natural and passive principles only in order to maintain a comfortable indoor climate. The building is also designed to facilitate patients' healing process, by its design and positive sensory impact. The building´s flexible plan can easily be adapted to different locations in East Africa whereby local needs and circumstances can be met in then design.
