In this project we are looking into the interaction between the municipal officers and the small and medium enterprises in the voluntary collaboration to create sustainable transition. We investigate under which circumstances the municipal officers work, what role they play and which tools they use. We apply actor network theory to analyse how the municipal officers navigate in a complex reality and exhibit sensitivity according to other actors realities. We apply theory of organisation to recommend municipal officers to work with sense making and redescriptions, and we will propose recommendations to a different use of the existing tools in the meeting with the companies. Finally, we recommend to stage the transition at system level instead of company level to enhance the opportunities for a successful sustainable transition.
