Ray Tracing model is a three di- mensional based on uniform theory of diffraction and geometrical optics. The model, which is provided by AWE-Communication, allows to spec- ify the variable maximum number of reflections and diffractions, resulting in complex impulse responses and angular spread in addition to path loss for propagation prediction.
In this project, most of the well known models for indoor environment (also supported by the tool) is explained in details and intelligent ray tracing is chosen for further investigation and channel characteristics of the prediction as the result.
The measurement data is used to verify and compare the accuracy of the model for an indoor environment in AAU-NOVI-2 building.
Although, it is expected from ray tracing method to align with reality, investigation shows that for some certain locations, the predicted field strength does not precisely match with reality.
