This report describes the development of a lab setup, the
adaption and extension of a mathematical model and design
of several controllers. In cooperation with Ramboll Oil &
Gas a lab setup has been designed and constructed to use
as a test bed to verify the model, and for implementation
of the controllers. Several models have been considered and
a model made by Di Meglio was chosen for the project. As
for the controllers a PID solution was considered, developed
and implemented to use as a performance reference for the
more advanced MPC. A MPC controller was designed but
only implemented for o-line simulation use. However it
showed fast performance compared to PID control. During
the project period a paper was submitted and accepted
for 5th IFAC International Workshop on Periodic Control
Systems in Caen, France.
