Livsrum - Herlev Hospital

This thesis deals with the process of the making of a proposal for a new 'Livsrum' (cancer counselling centre), situated at Herlev Hospital.
In the 00s discovered cancer society the need for an expanded counseling for cancer patients and therefore put it into the area and had developed the philosophy for living space the open counseling with a focus on both body and soul.
On the basis of the theory behind the concept of healing architecture, this project focuses on the people that move in the building and what experiences they have. The finished building is decorated with greater social spaces to pay tribute to the community and life, but also smaller spaces and zones in the context of the social areas where you can retreat and meditate or otherwise let the mind drift away from a period in life which will be marked by worries.
The project works suchlike with the concept of sustainability in order to obtain a building which has a pleasant indoor climate while it complies with future energy standards.
