4. term, Mathematics, Master (Master Programme)
This work has been written to satisfy the requirements for the qualification exam, which is part of the 4+4 PhD programme. It contains an in-depth summary of two research papers submitted to peer-reviewed journals or conferences during the first two years of study. In addition, it covers a manuscript that is still work in progress. The topics are reliable message transmission, OT-extension, and constructions of nested codes. The first two topics are relevant in the area of secure multiparty computation.
The third can be used to construct both secret sharing schemes and asymmetric quantum codes.
The unifying theme in the work is the application of coding theoretic principles.
