4. term, Master of ICT and Learning (MIL) (Continuing education) (Continuing Education Programme (Master))
ICT - mediated learning processes is a relatively unlit area of research, for people suffering from aphasia after an acquired brain injury.
With this Master project we will take a closer look into this area, where we intend to design an environment of communication and learning for people with aphasia, who requires learning processes in relations to rebuilding language after a brain injury.
Studies on learning, the brain function and interaction design combined with surveys of user behavior and needs, sets foundation for a user-centered design process with a participatory design-mindset, where the aphasia patients and the speech therapists are active co-creators of the design.
Finally the contours of a communication- and learning environment for people with aphasia is drawn. Hereby an environment is designed, where the keywords are: a minimalistic interface, easy and secure navigation, social interaction, communication, CSCL (Computer Supported Collaborative Learning) based processes, multimodality, learning in joint communities and that the iterative design process continues in the future to be able to accommodate the needs, that may arise due to the technological development, new acknowledgement of the user's needs, and the processes of change in social practice.
