Interfaces in the interdisciplinary collaboration in a handover process for young people in the transition from child to adult legalization.
The goal of this bachelor project is to study how the handover process is affected by the interfaces between departments in the transversal collaboration, when the support from the family group according social service provision has to be coordinated in the transition from child to adult regulations. It is the project’s purpose to study which interfaces affect the handover process in the transversal collaboration, and how these can be optimized. The issue of this bachelor project is based on the project groups pre-understanding and also based on what was wanted studied/examined before the collection process of empiricism was initiated. The project group’s hypothesis is that the transversal collaboration in the handover process is filled with problems.
The describing/outlining part of this bachelor project is critical towards the bureaucracy and organization of Aalborg Kommune. The term integrity will subsequently be seen critically in the transversal collaboration in a handover process of young people in support of social service provision. This bachelor project is created from the abductive methodical approach, since the pure form of induction isn’t used, due to the project group’s theoretical knowledge. Furthermore relevant issues, which come to term through interviews, can’t be explained by potential chosen theories, therefore the true form of deduction isn’t used. In addition this project takes a social constructivist approach. The reason for this approach is that the project group is of the notion, that the social reality and knowledge accordingly is a social structure. Is it the project group’s notion that the handover process structure and outcome is highly to depend upon the involved professionals’ abilities to interact, communicate and reflect on the given situation.
The analysis strategy of the project is based on a hermeneutic method; where the person centered and theme centered method approach will be used for the analysis. In the analysis the qualitative data material of the project is compared with the chosen theory: David L. Brown, Harold J. Leavitts and De fire fællesmetodiske principper. The analysis is divided in two parts. The first part consists of data material from qualitative solo interviews and the second part consists of data material from the interview of the focus group.
The conclusion is that there is mismatches interfaces present in the interdisciplinary collaboration of the transition process. Therefore it is necessary to optimize the interdisciplinary collaboration by creating a transfer team, where the representative departments are together about the work around the young people.
