4. term, Master of Sexology (Continuing education) (Continuing Education Programme (Master))
This is a qualitative study of the sexuality of first-time parents in the period before and after birth. Many couples find their relationship and sexuality under pressure in the transition to parenthood - unfortunately this causes many relationships to collapse which in worst case results in divorce within the children's first years of life.
The factors that influence sexuality are examined, with particular focus on the parents' experience of the role of health professionals in relation to the challenges of sexuality in the transition from being a couple to parenthood.
The aim of this masterproject is to focus on sexuality and its significance in order to integrate and improve the health professionals' efforts to prevent breakdown in the relationship and, in worse case divorce.
