This thesis examines how the current experience offers provided by both the public and private sector in Thy National Park correlate with the demands of nature-oriented tourists, and if new initiatives are needed in order for the public and private sector to keep meeting these de-mands. As a means for clarifying the correlation between experience offers and nature tourists’ demands, this thesis puts forward some of the many different theories about experience econ-omy. Especially Pine and Gilmore’s figure ‘the experience realms’ will be discussed and used as a means to examine which experience elements the different experience offers and demands of nature tourists contain, along with providing a frame in which the experience offers and de-mands are compared. The definition of what characterizes nature-based tourism, and its two subcategories ecotourism and adventure tourism are also investigated. The thesis is conducted with a hermeneutic methodological approach, in which the researcher is aware of how her pre-understanding of the areas of; Thy National Park, nature tourism and experience economy that affect the focus of this thesis. Furthermore, in order to clarify the current offers found within the national park, seven private actors and one public actor are in-terviewed, using the approach of semi-structured interview. Furthermore, information regard-ing demands of nature tourists is determined through already existing studies. The findings in this thesis indicate that there is a correlation between experience offers and demands of nature tourists, with experience offers and demands being located within both the educational realm, the escapist realm, and the esthetic realm. However, one area of demands from nature tourism is not met by the current experience offers, besides the exception of one private actor, and that is the demand for being environmentally compatible. The request for actors being more environmentally compatible is therefore a subject for further development, in order to meet the demands of the nature tourists.
