The purpose of the project is to test a virtual design to support students learning process in practice placement. The theory is based on socio-cultural perspectives focusing on Lave/Wengers theories about communities of practice, theories about learning transfer, theories about the technology of writing as a possibility for learning and theories from the CSCL-tradition. The methodology is based on the Action research tradition and text analysis of computer conferences and a group interview is chosen for data collection in the evaluation and reification fases. In the thesis the design is evaluated and in the conclusion concrete changes is proposed for a new design to be tested in a new action research circle.
