Summary The Danish system of vocational education and training (VET) has been reformed a number of times with a view to adapting it to the ever changing demands made on young people by the labour market and society in general. Just now a new reform is going on and has to be implemented. The Reform2000 was initiated because of 3 reasons: q broadness - to ensure more students finished theirs educations. There have been too many drop-outs. q a whish to have an up-to-date education, where the students was prepared to life long learning q to make an effective education and use the resources in the best way. In this rapport I will describe the virtual learning environment, at Aarhus Technical College (ATC) a vocational education and training institution, from angel of the Reform2000. I will select some theory of learning and reflections and compare the practice with this theory. Especially I will involve two IKT-tools, which has a vital importance for the whole learning environment. The tools will be: Elevplan: a web-based planning tool for teachers and students. From Elevplan the student can make their choice of learning activities and see which objective they have succeed. The teachers will be able to describe learning activities and make an evaluation of each objective for each student. skolenet.ats.dk Skolenet: a Custom Management System ( CMS) for the students, where students can communicate with each other or the teacher. The can use Skolenet for getting information and school stuff. Specially the can use it as a logbook and portfolio. www.elevplan.dk
