Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis is to investigate whether digitization has changed productivity during projection. The analysis is based on the activity theory.
A total of three ways of researching and using the digital tools have been investigated.
The first deals with 2D design, a method that was used a lot more, back in time. The second method is Building Information Modeling, which opens an opportunity for interdisciplinary collaboration. The latter includes Virtual Design Construction which reflects BIM.
In the analysis, the starting point is a quantitative and qualitative approach, in order to become more aware of which specific processes it has affected.
