The purpose of this project is to find a solution to reduce or remove the unwanted vibrations obtained when turning the steering wheel leftwards for an asymmetrical steering unit. In order to find the solution, a mathematical model of the system has been obtained and validated. With this mathematical model, a state space model has been formulated and solved for different key pressure points. With these linearized models a sensitivity analysis has been conducted in order to find the influence of each one of the components in the overall stability and response of the system. The findings provided by
this sensitivity analysis have been implemented in an improved model, which does not present the unwanted vibrations.
