The dissertation "The evangelical Church and the State in the German Democratic Republic - an Tension Field between Conflict and Cooperation" discusses and analyses the relationship between church and state in the GDR from 1958-1978. The dissertation is written in Danish an contains quotations and Abstract/summary in German. No English summary is included. The primary purpose with the dissertation has been to help us understand the basic framework of the church-state relations in the former GDR. After a discussion of basic important devolpments in the period from 1945-58, the dissertation analyses the church-state relations in the light of an ideologic / theologic field, an economic, a legal and a political field. In the end a Synthesis attempts to bring together all major observations from the analysis.
