In this report, it is sought to create a complete toolset for the Unity Game Engine, which will ease the creation of a complete functional game camera similar to those seen in most popular game genres.
Cameras are analyzed in popular games and recent studies to evaluate needed functionality for the toolset to be developed. The features are segmented and developed to a toolset. The interface is designed using usability principles, with game designers as the intended end users.
The project scope is for an extended delivery, for June 2011. During this project period, both authors are attending the March 2011 DADIU production as game programmers. The completed product is being tested extensively during the DADIU productions in March 2011 and the product is evaluated following, based on the usage on the productions.
The DADIU production showed the advantages of having the CameraTool in a production environment and the usefulness of shifting the workload of camera setup from the programmer to the game designer.
