This project puts forward a concept for Randers harbour pier and an urban space design on the pier. The design of the urban space is the focus of this project which generates sensuous ex- periences based on the stories of the place of the river valley and the harbour. By exploiting the stories of the place itself as point of departure of the urban space design, an identity specific to the place is created. The atmosphere of the place is experienced by the person at the place, and by creating sensuous experiences in the urban space, the relation between person and place is emphasized. Greenery, water, materials, lighting and the relation between these plus the changeability which time and weather contribute, are used as tools to develop the sensuous experi- ences and stories of the place.
