This master thesis goes through three speech and language rehabilitation methods:Melodic Intonation Therapy (MIT) (Sparks & Deck, 1986), Modified Melodic IntonationTherapy (MMIT) (Baker, 2000; Baker & Tamplin, 2006) and Speech Music Therapy forAphasia (SMTA) (De Bruijn et al., 2005), which are all methods applying the use ofmelodic sentences in the speech and language rehabilitation programme with patientswith expressive, non-fluent aphasia (Brocas’ aphasia).
