This study examines heat loss calculation in the Danish building sector, with the purpose of automating workflows. Heat loss calculation includes measuring the buildings envelope and to manually input data to an energy calculations software. The work tasks in relation to the calculation can be time consuming and erroneous, wherefore the present study focuses on optimization potential.
The study embodies a problem analysis focusing on rules of measurements required by the Danish building regulations. Energy calculation software are furthermore examined, more specifically Be18 and its underlaying data structure in XML. A proposed solution is presented, consisting of a Dynamo-script which extracts and transfers data from the BIM-model to the energy calculation software. The new workflow and following test act as a basis for the study’s conclusion.
