This thesis is about how the professional personnel perceive and relate to the placement of unaccompanied minor refugees and their needs.
The study is based on eight in-depth interviews with key individuals from the Danish municipality, Glimmerby. The interviewed are employees and leaders from the three residential institutions, as well as one foster family, five consultants and the head of department dealing with this group minors.
By a qualitative analysis of the eight interviews and by using, among others, the theory of care skills by Pär Nygren and the theory about view of integration by Tove Skutnabb-Kangas it has been possible to reveal how the professionals at various levels perceive and relate to the unaccompanied minor refugees.
