Present thesis aim is to contribute insight into the phenomenons of mobility and place by posing the following question:How does american students, for whom studying abroad is facilitated by DIS, experience Copenhagen and to what extent are their experiences of place affected by the mass-produced institutional framing or experiences of place that can be characterized as individually based and unique? The data consists of one interview with a representative from DIS and ten walk and talk interviews with students from DIS. Some of the most important conclusions were that personal and unique experiences of place were more prevalent than the ones affected by institutional mass production, that the two are often intertwined and simoultaneously present and that personal experiences of place, does not necessarily entail unique ones.
