Torque Control in Field Weakening Mode

This project deals with the control of an
IPMSM. The objective of the project is to implement
and investigate a control structure that is
able to drive the motor in Field Weakening(FW)
mode. In order to reach this objective, first a
Field Oriented Control structure is implemented
in Matlab/Simulink with a Maximum Torque
per Ampere control. Then a FW control algorithm
that acts on the angle of the stator
current vector is investigated and implemented
in the overall simulation model. The presented
simulation results prove that the implemented
method is capable of FW, with good speed and
torque dynamics. The designed control is then
implemented in a dSpace control system. The
experimental results that are presented at the
end confirm the fact that the FOC is working,
and is capable of FW regime.
