This study examines the link between shame and the performance society in the modern western society among adolescents. The study applies perspectives on how the participants of the study, adolescents, experience shame in the performance society and their suggestions on how to deal with it in the modern western society. The study includes theoretical views using Petersen (2017), Petersen & Krogh (2021) Larsen (2022), Jørgensen (2023), Scheff (2014), McGregor & Elliot (2005) and Stoeber (2008) to support or reject the perspectives of the participants through co-creation with the participants of the study to gain a greater knowledge about the research field. The study applies Design thinking and Divergent thinking in the co-creation with the participants of the study and view the research field as a Wicked problem with an open thesis. The study includes hypothetical questions, that emerge during the encounter with a mix of perspectives of the participants and the theoretical views of the study:

1. It is relevant to talk about shame in the performance society with adolescents.
2. Do adolescents have a language for the shame they feel and experience in the performance society?
3. Do adolescents think it is relevant to create a design, a psychical place, or a digital platform where they openly can talk about shame in the performance society?
4. Will a design, a psychical place, or a digital platform developed in co-creation with the participants of the study be able to meet Jørgensens (2023) quote about developing the ability to accommodate, face, and deal with shame?
5. What must a design, a psychical place, or a digital platform contain to accommodate the question of Jørgensen (2023)?

The result of the study implies that there is an issue in modern western society with adolescents experiencing shame due to the pressure they feel and experience in the performance society. Through the hypothetical questions, the study implies that it is important for the adolescents to develop a language for the shame they feel and experience in the performance society, and through co-creation, the participants of the study imply through suggested solutions ways to develop a language for shame in the performance society and ultimately, how to learn to deal with shame in the performance society among adolescents.
