This paper posits that Netflix acts as a conduit through which reality shows that promotes materialism and conspicuous consumption, constantly pours to its subscribers via its streaming platform. Netflix's global dominance and its ever-growing production of original films and reality series presents an opportunity to look at how this over-the-top streaming platform’s contents can be examined discursively as a part of a larger conversations.
