The basis is a sustainable urban development, where BCH is seen as an important mean, which contribute to larger cohesion in our cities and through that remain alive, multifarious, and tolerant living in. The concept is an alternative approach to the establishment of BCH as an add-on typology in the existing urban space.
In the specific pilot project, The White Meat Market (Vesterbro, Copenhagen), present a design proposal for a modular add-on housing estate. The concept is to be perceived as a direct answer to the current housing crisis in Copenhagen as well as to the need for revitalizing The White Meat Market.
The report is divided in six chapters – programme, analysis, pilot project, overall approach, concept, and process. The chapters present the significant aspects and crucial prerequisites of the project. Sketching and model work has been important elements through the project. A part of these is categorized and chronological presented under the chapter process. The process chapter is placed last in the report due to that the final concept is presented directly in continuation of the analysis and overall approach.
In relation to technical aspects constructive and climatic considerations and calculations is presented as basis for the forming of an integrated solution
