Abstract
The workload in the Care sector in Denmark is growing these years, and figures for the future show that the prospects isn´t bright. This has the unfortunate consequence that the students at the Social and health education do not always get the support and attention they need to develop competences within their education. This project will try to elucidate how ICT and mobile technologies can be used for knowledge sharing and help for the students during their period of practice so that competences will grow.
The method used in this assignment is the Design Based Research method ”7 modes of innovation”, where this project works within mode1 to 4 until the actual concept development and design begins. Where mode1 is about sensing the field in which the project operates, mode2 is about studying the context or the circumstances in which the innovation process is operating and mode3 takes a closer look at the people in the field, to get to understand them and how they work. The final mode4 is framing all the information and ideas, getting ready for developing prototypes and concepts. The project thus takes the form of a theoretical and analytical project. The report addresses issues such as learning in the workplace, knowledge sharing, silent knowledge and competence development. Theories are combined with Interview and Surveys to clarify working conditions, IT readiness, etc.
The central results show, that there can be great potential in using portable mobile technologies in connection with the internship, but the studies also show that optimally, improvements must also be made in relation to the student’s internships and guidance.
The conclusion of the project is thus positive, but more complex than first assumed.
