This project takes its point of departure in the joint teaching approach at UCN called Reflective Practice-based Learning (RPL). The purpose is to investigate how RPL can be scaffolded through the use of digital technologies. From a theoretical angle the concept of reflection will be seen through a historical lense presenting Dewey, Schön and Jarvis as the starting point. Subsequently, theories from Mezirow and Stockero will be discussed giving way to the analytical framework of the project. The didactic framework of Sørensen & Levinsen is discussed in the light of the theories on reflection and is furthermore brought into the analysis and later the design of the prototype, that support RPL in a digital perspective. The project is based on a social constructivist paradigm and qualitative data is gathered using focus group interviews for the purpose of identifying current RPL practices amongst lecturers. Once a common practice is identified the result will be used in a scenario workshop in order to bring forward ideas for the development of an ICT based design framework scaffolding the students reflection. The outcome of the project is a prototype scaffolding students reflection process based on their internship experience. The prototype uses Canvas as the platform for the scaffolding concept.
