4. semester, Energiteknik, Kandidat (Kandidatuddannelse)
In this student project the efforts during the
fall and spring semester 2013-2014, which
corresponds to 9th and 10th semester of the
education, have been introduced.
The project deals with design of a bidirectional
flyback converter for Dielectric
Electro Active Polymer Generator (DEAP).
Firstly an introduction to the energy harvesting
cycles has been made. Afterwards, the
converter is discussed theoretically and in order
to enhance the efficiency of the converter
two SiC MOSFET employed to work in series.
Therefore, a brief discussion on series connection
techniques are done and gate balancing
core technique was utilized to provide balanced
voltage distribution at switching transients.
Finally the converter has been built at
laboratory of AAU and experiments have been
performed which are different voltage levels.
