The aim of this master thesis is to evaluate the usefulness and effectiveness based on \citeauthor{seidel2018design}s set of constructed design principles used for the development of sustainable information systems. This is done through a design science research study where we develop a system through three iterations based upon the mentioned design principles. The development process is logged with an autoetnographic approach to. We were able to develop a functional system. However, the system proved confusing to use for potential end users in the conduction of usability tests. We conclude that the design principles from \citeauthor{seidel2018design} were too abstract with a lack of guidance and therefore not accessable for common practitioners. Based on our results, we propose a revised version of the original set of design principles.
