The master thesis “A place of Retreat” aims to
strengthen the awareness of “a person being in the world” by enhancing his connection to nature and taking him out of the daily routine. As nature itself gives a ‘healing’ effect to the body through its multi-sensorial
experiences, the design encourages a connection to the site at all time. There is also a search for raising
awareness on how we treat our planet in order to urge a more sustainable existence.
