Specialet undersøger kvalitativt, hvordan prekarisering i arbejdsmarkedet opleves af seks medlemmer af fagforbundet 3F, og hvordan disse erfaringer hænger sammen med demokratisk medborgerskab. Indledningsvis skitseres udviklingen mod mere usikre ansættelser med udgangspunkt i Guy Standings arbejde om prekariatet samt aktuelle danske opgørelser af atypisk beskæftigelse. Teoretisk bruges Standing som typologisk ramme, mens hans idé om prekariatet som en klasse under tilblivelse afvises; forståelsen uddybes via Isabell Loreys tre-niveaumodel, der ser prekaritet som et mulig styringsredskab. En kort præsentation af medborgerskabsteori danner grundlag for at fokusere på horisontale og vertikale dimensioner af demokratisk medborgerskab. Metodisk baserer studiet sig på semistrukturerede interviews og narrativ analyse med tematisk fokus samt overvejelser om validitet. Analysen samler fire fortællinger, der blandt andet omhandler solidaritet på arbejdspladsen, “grinners and groaners”, gule fagforeninger samt opbakning, tillid og rolleopfattelse. Afslutningsvis diskuteres indsigterne i relation til problemformuleringen. De konkrete resultater og konklusioner fremgår ikke af dette uddrag.

This thesis presents a qualitative study of how labour market precarity is experienced by six members of the Danish union 3F and how these experiences relate to democratic citizenship. It first outlines the shift toward more insecure forms of employment with reference to Guy Standing’s work on the precariat and current Danish figures on non-standard employment. Theoretically, Standing’s framework is used typologically, while his notion of the precariat as a class-in-the-making is rejected; the concept is extended through Isabell Lorey’s three-level understanding of precarity as a potential instrument of governance. A brief overview of citizenship theory frames attention to the horizontal and vertical dimensions of democratic citizenship. Methodologically, the study employs semi-structured interviews and narrative analysis with a thematic focus, alongside reflections on validity. The analysis develops four narratives addressing, among other themes, workplace solidarity, “grinners and groaners,” yellow unions, and support, trust, and role perceptions. The thesis concludes with a discussion linking these insights to the research question. Specific findings and conclusions are not included in this excerpt.
