Abstract
Denne afhandling præsenterer en ramme for at forstå produktiv interaktion – det gensidige samspil mellem bruger og digitalt system, når systemet på en meningsfuld måde støtter brugerens mål. Rammen er omsat til en model for både design og evaluering af digitalt medieindhold, kaldet OPIL. For at undersøge modellen udviklede og testede vi et digitalt spil, der var designet efter rammes krav. Resultaterne viser, at OPIL kan identificere og kategorisere produktiv interaktion, men at modellen bør bruges sammen med viden om målgruppen og eventuelt målinger af flow (brugeres oplevelse af fordybet engagement). Denne kombination gør det lettere at vurdere samspillet mellem bruger og system.
This thesis introduces a framework for understanding productive interaction—the two-way relationship between a user and a digital system when the system effectively supports the user’s goals. The framework is implemented as a design-and-evaluation model for digital media, called OPIL. To examine the model, we built and tested a digital game designed according to the framework’s requirements. The findings show that OPIL can identify and categorize productive interaction, but it should be used together with knowledge about the target audience and, where relevant, measures of flow (users’ experience of focused engagement). This combination helps assess the quality of user–system interaction.
