Dette speciale undersøger, hvordan en stærkt belastet bygade som Hadsundvej i Aalborg kan fungere som en multifunktionel trafikvej, der både understøtter byliv og forskellige transportformer inden for et begrænset vejareal. Med udgangspunkt i et casestudie kortlægges de nuværende fysiske og trafikale forhold samt lokale bindinger, og der gennemføres både kvalitative og kvantitative analyser. Kvalitativt indsamles viden via spørgeskemaundersøgelse blandt borgere, workshops med erhvervsdrivende og interviews med centrale kommunalpolitikere for at afdække behov, oplevet tryghed og ønsker til gadens fremtidige funktion. Kvantitativt gennemføres blandt andet trafiktællinger, nummerpladeregistrering til bestemmelse af gennemkørende trafik, parkeringsanalyse og anvendelse af TomTom GPS-data for at belyse trafikkens omfang og karakter. På grundlag af litteraturstudie, kortlægning og interessenternes perspektiver udformes to løsningsforslag: et cykel- og bylivsorienteret forslag, der prioriterer bløde trafikanter, ophold, krydsningsmuligheder og sammenhæng til Vejgaard Torv, samt et bilorienteret forslag, der fastholder gaden primært som trafikkorridor og øger parkeringskapaciteten blandt andet ved at udelukke cykler fra strækningen. Begge forslag omfatter blandt andet hastighedsnedsættelse til 30 km/t, fastholdelse af kantstensparkering og beplantning, forbedret mulighed for ophold og forbud mod tunge køretøjer uden lokalt ærinde. Analysen peger på, at det inden for det eksisterende vejareal ikke er realistisk at imødekomme alle funktioner og brugergrupper uden at gå på kompromis med trafiksikkerhed og oplevet tryghed. Konklusionen er, at det cykel- og bylivsorienterede forslag samlet set bedst opfylder interessenternes ønsker og understøtter Aalborg Kommunes planer for Vejgaard og den overordnede mobilitetsstrategi, og at fremtidige multifunktionelle gader med fordel bør have en mere strategisk og selektiv prioritering af transportformer og funktioner på kommunalt eller statsligt niveau.
This thesis investigates how a busy urban street such as Hadsundvej in Aalborg can function as a multifunctional traffic corridor that supports both urban life and different transport modes within a limited street space. Using a case study approach, the current physical and traffic conditions and local constraints are mapped, and both qualitative and quantitative analyses are carried out. Qualitatively, knowledge is collected through a questionnaire survey among residents, workshops with local business owners, and interviews with key municipal politicians to identify needs, perceived safety, and wishes for the future role of the street. Quantitatively, traffic counts, license plate surveys to determine the share of through traffic, parking analyses, and the use of TomTom GPS data are conducted to clarify the volume and nature of traffic. Based on the literature review, the mapping of conditions, and stakeholder perspectives, two design proposals are developed: a cycling- and urban-life-oriented proposal that prioritises vulnerable road users, opportunities for staying, street crossings, and a stronger connection to Vejgaard Torv, and a car-oriented proposal that maintains the street primarily as a traffic corridor and increases parking capacity, among other measures by excluding cyclists from the corridor. Both proposals include a reduction of the speed limit to 30 km/h, retention of curbside parking and vegetation, improved possibilities for public stay, and a ban on heavy vehicles without a local destination. The analysis indicates that, within the existing road width, it is not realistic to accommodate all functions and user groups without compromising traffic safety and perceived security. The thesis concludes that the cycling- and urban-life-oriented proposal overall best addresses stakeholder wishes and supports Aalborg Municipality’s plans for Vejgaard and its broader mobility strategy, and that future multifunctional streets should be guided by a more strategic and selective prioritisation of transport modes and functions at municipal or national level.
