Resumé
Kalundborg vokser som uddannelses- og industriby, men byen kæmper med svag sammenhæng, social trivsel og at fastholde studerende. Dette speciale undersøger, hvorfor disse udfordringer opstår, og hvordan Grøn-Blå Infrastruktur (GBI)—et sammenhængende netværk af grønne områder og vand—kan bruges strategisk til at styrke fysiske forbindelser og byliv i takt med byens udvikling. Med en mixed-methods tilgang kombinerer studiet GIS (Geografiske Informationssystemer) til kortlægning og rumlig analyse med borgerinddragelse og placemaking (at inddrage mennesker i at forme offentlige rum) for at finde huller og muligheder for GBI. Resultaterne peger på, at små, målrettede GBI-tiltag kan indpasses i det centrale Kalundborgs eksisterende infrastruktur, så det bliver lettere for studerende at bevæge sig, mødes og føle tilknytning. Når tiltagene planlægges i samspil med den omkringliggende by, kan de opfylde flere formål og skabe større værdi.
Kalundborg is growing as a center for education and industry, but the city struggles with weak cohesion, social wellbeing, and keeping students in town. This thesis investigates why these issues occur and how Green-Blue Infrastructure (GBI)—a connected network of green spaces and water features—can be used strategically to strengthen physical links and social life as the city develops. Using a mixed-methods design, the study combines GIS (Geographic Information Systems) mapping and spatial analysis with citizen participation and placemaking (involving people in shaping public spaces) to identify gaps and opportunities for GBI. The findings suggest that small, targeted GBI additions can be integrated into central Kalundborg’s existing infrastructure to make it easier for students to move, meet, and feel connected. When planned in relation to the surrounding urban context, these interventions can serve multiple purposes and create greater value.
