Resumé
Dette speciale undersøger, hvad der faktisk findes i danske arkiveringsversioner (bevaringsudgaver af data fra it-systemer), og hvor let materialet er at få adgang til og bruge. Undersøgelsen tager udgangspunkt i tre arkiveringsversioner af it-systemet Care hos Aalborg Stadsarkiv. Med hjælp fra den medfølgende dokumentation og arkivets foruddefinerede søgninger er det overordnet muligt at finde de vigtigste oplysninger om personer. Samtidig rummer arkiveringsversionerne mange andre oplysninger, som er vanskeligere at lokalisere og forstå. Resultaterne peger på, at der fortsat er et stykke vej, før vi har en fuld forståelse af, hvordan kvalitet, tilgængeliggørelse og brug af arkiveringsversioner fungerer i praksis.
This thesis investigates what is actually contained in Danish archival versions (preservation copies/data exports from IT systems) and how accessible and usable this material is. The study focuses on three archival versions of the IT system Care held by Aalborg City Archives. With the help of accompanying documentation and the archive’s pre-made searches, it is generally possible to find the most important information about individuals. At the same time, the archival versions include many other pieces of information that are harder to locate and understand. Overall, there is still a way to go before we fully understand how the quality, access provision, and use of archival versions work in practice.
