Resumé
Hotel Viridis er et kandidatprojekt, der udvikler et hotel ved indsejlingen til Grimstad i Sydnorge efter norsk passivhusstandard. Projektets overordnede spørgsmål er, hvordan et nyt hotel kan forene strenge energi- og indeklimakrav med respekt for byens kystnære landskab, eksisterende arkitektur og lokale kultur, og samtidig bidrage til mere helårsaktivitet ved havnefronten. Arbejdet anvender en integreret designproces med iterative faser fra analyse over skitsering til syntese og præsentation, hvor æstetik, funktion og teknik vurderes samlet. Kontekstanalysen er inspireret af Kevin Lynchs mapping, skitseringen følger Steen Aggers systematik, og der arbejdes med håndskitser, fysiske modeller og digitale værktøjer som 3ds Max, AutoCAD og dagslysundersøgelser i Velux Daylight Visualizer. Med udgangspunkt i Grimstads mange klarvejrsdage integreres dagslys og solenergi i projektet. Ifølge projektets synopsis resulterer processen i et design, der opfylder norsk passivhusstandard og fremstår som en sammenhængende del af landskabet i harmoni med natur, kultur og æstetik.
Hotel Viridis is a master’s project that develops a hotel at the sea entrance to Grimstad in southern Norway designed to meet the Norwegian passive house standard. The central question is how a new hotel can combine stringent energy and indoor climate requirements with respect for the coastal landscape, existing architecture and local culture, while also supporting more year-round activity along the waterfront. The work applies an integrated design process with iterative phases from analysis through sketching to synthesis and presentation, evaluating aesthetics, function and technology together. Context analysis is informed by Kevin Lynch’s mapping, sketching follows Steen Agger’s systematic method, and the process uses hand sketches, physical models and digital tools such as 3ds Max, AutoCAD and daylight studies in Velux Daylight Visualizer. Building on Grimstad’s many clear-sky days, daylight and solar energy are integrated into the proposal. According to the project synopsis, the process results in a design that meets the Norwegian passive house standard and reads as a coherent part of the landscape in harmony with local nature, culture and aesthetics.
