Denne afhandling undersøger, hvordan den danske moderniseringspolitik i Grønland under G50- og G60-indsatserne blev politisk håndteret, hvilke sociale og institutionelle konsekvenser den fik, og hvordan disse eftervirkninger præger den nutidige politiske italesættelse af forholdet mellem Grønland og Danmark i rigsfællesskabet. Med et kritisk-realistisk udgangspunkt kombinerer studiet en empirisk gennemgang af moderniseringens konkrete tiltag (bl.a. sundhed, bolig, skole og det såkaldte Grønlandseksperiment) med en analyse af nyere politiske udtalelser og positioner om ligestilling, sprog og kolonalevninger. Teoretisk trækker afhandlingen på nationalisme, postkolonialisme og postkolonial nationalisme til at belyse, hvordan historiske erfaringer formater nutidens politiske fortællinger. This thesis examines how Danish modernization policies in Greenland during the G50 and G60 initiatives were politically handled, what social and institutional consequences they produced, and how these legacies shape contemporary political discourse about the relationship between Greenland and Denmark within the Kingdom of Denmark.
