Abstract

This study explores how therapists adopt a virtual reality (VR) toolkit in the rehabilitation of people with acquired brain injury (brain injury that occurs after birth). We conducted a case study focused on therapists, examining how they worked with the VR system and how they interacted with patients. Data included video recordings, participant observation, and field notes, analyzed through interaction analysis—a close, systematic look at how people and technology interact in practice. The findings show emergent behavior—new patterns that developed during use—and resourcefulness, as therapists flexibly combined the VR tools with their conventional rehabilitation methods.
