Abstract

Alvorlig slugging opstår i rørsystemer med stigerør og er en ustabil strømningsform, der er uønsket, fordi den kan påvirke produktionen og beskadige udstyr. I dette arbejde udvikles en endimensionel (1D) model, der kun beskriver variationer langs rørets længde, med mål om at simulere fænomenet. Modellen er implementeret i det åbne simuleringsprogram OpenFOAM, testet, og al relevant OpenFOAM-kode er fremlagt. Modellen kan gengive centrale fysiske effekter som statisk tryk, friktion og opdrift. Den kan dog endnu ikke simulere selve den alvorlige slugging. Afslutningsvis foreslås næste skridt, der kan gøre det muligt at nå dette mål.

Severe slugging occurs in pipe-riser systems and is an unstable flow behavior that is undesirable because it can affect production and damage equipment. This thesis develops a one-dimensional (1D) model, which only varies along the length of the pipe, with the aim of simulating the phenomenon. The model is implemented in the open-source simulation software OpenFOAM, tested, and the relevant OpenFOAM code is presented. The model reproduces key physical effects such as static pressure, friction, and buoyancy. However, it does not yet simulate severe slugging itself. The thesis proposes future work to achieve this.
