Abstract
This thesis analyzes the discourses that exist in the employment field. Furthermore, it dwells into the discourse changes that has occurred within this field since 2014 when the social security system for unemployment underwent a big reform, and thereafter when the project ‘Job-bro til uddannelse’ were implemented, as a response to this new reform. The data consists of two texts that origin from the Danish agency for labor market and recruitment. The texts were analyzed using Norman Faircloughs discourse and social practices theory and method. The thesis found multiple discourses that overlapped the two texts, but it also found some significant differences herein. One of the changes was the lack of the sanction discourse in text two, where instead an innovation discourse had emerged in the order of discourse in text two. These changes along with the remaining discourses showed a change in the view of human nature, a strengthening of a marketization of the employment field, and a desire to find new ways in which to help young unemployed people.
