Abstract

Dette speciale undersøger, hvordan brugere af Dankort-appen oplever de løbende forandringer på det danske betalingsmarked. Danske forbrugere har mange betalingsmuligheder, og vi analyserer, hvordan deres betalingsvaner og -praksisser ændrer sig, når de tager nye digitale løsninger i brug. Nets konkurrerer med andre aktører og er under pres for løbende at tilbyde nemme, digitale initiativer; derfor har de udviklet Dankort-appen, som gør det muligt at betale med smartphone i mange butikker og supermarkeder. Vi beskriver også de udfordringer, Nets har mødt i forbindelse med implementeringen af appen, og giver bud på, hvorfor de er opstået. Specialet har to formål: at besvare den overordnede problemformulering og at bidrage til den eksisterende forskning i mobile betalinger i en dansk kontekst, hvor der er et tydeligt videnshul. Til at belyse betalingspraksis anvender vi praksisteori samt begreber fra Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), som forklarer, hvad der påvirker om folk tager ny teknologi til sig, og Diffusion of Innovations (DOI), som beskriver, hvordan nye løsninger spredes i samfundet.

This thesis examines how users of the Dankort app experience ongoing changes in the Danish payments market. Danish consumers have many payment options, and we analyze how their payment habits and practices shift as they adopt new digital solutions. Nets competes with other providers and faces constant pressure to offer simple, digital initiatives; therefore, it developed the Dankort app, which enables smartphone payments in many shops and supermarkets. We also describe the challenges Nets encountered during the app’s implementation and suggest reasons why they arose. The thesis has two aims: to answer the overall research question and to contribute to the literature on mobile payments in a Danish context, where we observe a notable knowledge gap. To study payment practice, we use practice theory and concepts from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which considers what influences people to adopt new technology, and Diffusion of Innovations (DOI), which explains how new solutions spread through society.
