Afhandlingen undersøger byggeledelsesudfordringer for E. Pihl & Søn A.S. på TGU Powerplant i Trinidad med udgangspunkt i forfatterens praktikophold. Formålet er at identificere og adressere forhold, der kan effektivisere projektorganisationen. Metodisk anvendes Logical Framework Approach til at strukturere problemanalysen og afdække årsager og virkninger, suppleret af interessent-, organisations- og kommunikationsanalyser, der samles i et problemtræ og efterfølgende et måltræ. Problemfeltet omfatter blandt andet strejker, politiske forhold, lokal infrastruktur, byggepladslogistik, inspektioner og intern kommunikation. Hovedfundet er en mangel på systematik i virksomhedens styring. Afhandlingen munder ud i forslag til et generelt styringssystem og relaterede forbedringer samt en skitseret implementeringsplan, der kan bruges til evaluering af det konkrete projekt og som grundlag for fremtidige projekter. Da projektet var i slutfasen, er forslagene ikke afprøvet på TGU-projektet.
This thesis examines construction management challenges for E. Pihl & Søn A.S. on the TGU Powerplant in Trinidad, based on the author’s internship. The aim is to identify and address factors that can improve the efficiency of the project organization. The Logical Framework Approach is used to structure the problem analysis and uncover causes and effects, supported by stakeholder, organizational, and communication analyses, synthesized into a problem tree and subsequently a goal tree. The problem landscape includes strikes, political conditions, local infrastructure, site logistics, inspections, and internal communication. The main finding is a lack of systematic management within the company. The thesis proposes a generic management/control system and related improvements, along with an outline for implementation that can serve as an evaluation of the case project and a basis for future projects. As the project was concluding, the proposals were not tested on the TGU project.
