Dette speciale undersøger, hvorfor samarbejdet i byggebranchen ofte fungerer utilfredsstillende, og hvordan det kan forbedres. Udgangspunktet er branchens lave produktivitet og økonomiske udfordringer, som i høj grad knyttes til mangelfuld koordinering mellem bygherrer, rådgivere, arkitekter, ingeniører, entreprenører og leverandører, trods tidligere tiltag med begrænset effekt. Projektet opstiller otte hypoteser om typiske samarbejdsproblemer og tester dem via en omfattende spørgeundersøgelse på tværs af branchens aktører. Projektforløbet er struktureret med Logical Framework Approach, herunder problem- og målanalyse samt interessentanalyser. Undersøgelsen peger på utilstrækkelig forventningsafstemning og dårlig kommunikation som de primære årsager til svagt samarbejde. Med afsæt i team- og teambuildingteori udvikles et løsningskoncept, der foreskriver brug af en ekstern teambuildingkonsulent til at gennemføre en foranalyse og en fælles workshop, hvor parterne fastlægger fælles mål og retningslinjer og adresserer samarbejdsudfordringer. For at understøtte anvendelsen i praksis skitseres et implementeringskoncept baseret på et centralt online system i form af en hjemmeside, der formidler konceptet og giver nem adgang til de udviklede værktøjer for både branchedeltagere og teambuildingkonsulenter, eventuelt i samspil med relevante myndigheder, fonde og brancheorganisationer.

This thesis examines why collaboration in the construction industry often underperforms and how it can be improved. The starting point is the sector’s persistently low productivity and weak project economics, widely linked to inadequate coordination among clients, consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers, despite past initiatives with limited effect. The project formulates eight hypotheses about common collaboration issues and tests them through an extensive survey across industry stakeholders. The work is structured using the Logical Framework Approach, including problem and goal analyses and stakeholder analyses. The survey identifies inadequate alignment of expectations and poor communication as the primary causes of ineffective collaboration. Drawing on team and teambuilding theory, the thesis develops a solution concept that calls for an external teambuilding consultant to conduct a preliminary analysis and a joint workshop in which parties agree on shared goals and guidelines and address collaboration challenges. To support practical uptake, an implementation concept is outlined around a central online system (a website) to disseminate the concept and provide easy access to the developed tools for industry participants and teambuilding consultants, potentially in cooperation with relevant authorities, foundations, and trade associations.
