Abstract
This project addresses the development of an integrated day care center in Aalborg. The intention is to create a day care that supports the daily activities of the children with a focus on the children’s development and the pedagogical approach behind the educational philosophy of Reggio Emilia. Consequently, a strong focus on user needs and the requirements to the appearance of individual spaces has been applied. The acoustic indoor environment is often a major problem in day care centers. The acoustics, daylight and indoor climate has been considered in the project. The objective is to develop a realistic scenario which means that the energy requirements for 2015 are applied in the design of the institution.
