The inspiration for this master thesis comes from an article about stress, no motivation and a lot of emotional strain on game developers who suffered from a lot of pressure from game producers and lead members with bad decision making qualities, resulting in heavy demotivation, burns outs and unproductive staff members. And since the game industry is a rapid growing field, I find it very disturbing about the possibility of me someday becoming a producer who does not know how to make good decisions and motivate people frightens me to my very core. That is why it has given me the purpose to write this Master thesis.

This thesis is an attempt to provide project managers or game producers with a tool to be a better decision maker, and to be a better staff motivator. The tool is a theoretical framework that comprises of three different fields of research. Project management in game development, Motivation theory, and Behavioral Economics. By using this framework to analyze different situations in a game development will give you an understanding on how to motivate your staff and spot irrational decisions in an early stage in a game development, by doing so you are able become a better in saving your project budget from waste of time and resources and saving your staff members from a lot emotional strain, and therefore making you a better project manager.
